Accelerated Reader
All Year 7, 8 and a pilot group of Year 9 students participate in the Accelerated Reader (AR) program which helps staff and parents to manage and monitor children’s independent reading practice.
At The King’s CE School your child will have an allocated reading session per week and some will complete additional sessions during tutor time. Alongside this, support at home will help them to achieve an increased reading age which will be beneficial to the student across all areas of the curriculum.
Students can take part in the end of book comprehension quiz and parents can monitor student progress by following the link below and then entering the student’s unique password (this is recorded in their planners).
The following link will take you to the AR Bookfinder, which will determine whether or not books from your home or local library can be used to contribute towards a student’s Accelerated Reader progress.
If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact the Accelerated Reader team.
