Sixth Form Information
Like all secondary schools in Wolverhampton, The King’s C.E. School operates within a Post 16 consortium, in our case with Aldersley and Smestow schools. This enables us to offer a far broader range of subjects, assisting students to develop their education in areas appropriate to their chosen career pathway. Transportation to other schools is provided free of charge.
We welcome students from other schools but admission to Post 16 courses is not automatic. It is dependant on the student reaching the academic profile required for the course(s) they wish to study.
Post 16 Successes
Congratulations to our Year 13 students and their success with their A level and BTEC Level 3 qualifications. Our A level average point score was 670 and the majority of students gained A* - B grades. Notable successes were Bethany Campbell who will be studying Pharmacy at Durham University with her top grades in Maths Biology and Chemistry and Jake Hudson and Danielle Raby who gained excellent grades in History, English Literature, Art and RE.
All of our BTEC Level 3 students worked hard to achieve 790 points and gained a distinction or distinction * level. Twins Rochae and Sasha Perry both achieved excellent results and are now heading off to Sheffield Hallam University to pursue their chosen higher education courses.
With such positive results across the whole of our Year 13 cohort, it is unsurprising that the vast majority of our students were thoroughly delighted with their results and have been accepted onto their chosen university courses. 93% of our students were accepted onto the university course of their choice.
Destinations for 2016 include:
University of Birmingham - Environmental Science, International Law and Globalisation, English
University of Reading -Geography
Aston University - Sociology
University of Leicester – English, Ancient History and Archaeology
University of Nottingham - Criminology and Social Policy
Newcastle University - Computer Science
We wish all of our Year 13 leavers well for their future studies and hope that they will return to visit us in the future to share their continuing success.
Many of our students have reached the highest levels
• Completing degrees at top universities including Oxford, Cambridge and other ‘Russell Group’ universities
